Nikolay Prokoplyuk

Deputy Director-General, Flight Safety — Chief, Flight Safety Inspection

Nikolay Prokoplyuk was born in the village settlement of Vanzhuliv (Ternopol’ region) on August 5, 1963.

Education

He graduated from Sasovo Flight School (Ryazan’ region) in 1984. He also graduated from University of Civil Aviation with a specialization in “Engineer Pilot” in 1990. He undertook post-graduate course in Saint Petersburg University of Economics in 1997 and holds a PhD in Economics.

Professional experience

1984–1988 

First officer of Let L-410 Turbolet, Magadan united air group.

1988–1991 

First Officer with re-skilling for An-12 aircraft, Yakutsk united air group.

1991–2000 

Executive position, Yakutsk Civil Aviation Authority.

2000–2004 

Head of the Flights Security Control Department, State Supervision over Flights Security of the State Service of Civil Aviation, Moscow.

2004–2008 

Head of the Flights Security Control and Aircraft Official Registration Department, Inspection Department for Flights Security, Federal Service for Supervision of Transport.

2008–2009 

Deputy Director, Inspection Department for Flights Security, The Federal Air Transport Agency.
