History

For more than 24 years Gazpromavia has kept the good traditions of the Russian civil aviation. It has been proven by our Company’s reputation as a reliable carrier with an excellent service onboard.

1993

Transportation subsidiaries of Gazprom of Russia start setting up their own aviation units.

1994

The Gazprom aviation support concept has been developed.

1995

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. — subsidiary of Gazprom of Russia, was registered at the Moscow Registration Chamber based on the decision of the Board of Directors of Gazprom of Russia from 03.02.1995 and according to the order of Gazprom of Russia from 03.02.1995 No.7/org.

The Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transportation of Russia issued the Aircraft Operator Certificate to the Company.

The decision of Gazprom of Russia is made to establish its own airport facility.

1996

Further work on creating a multifunctional aviation company, providing the whole range of air transportation services both for the gas Company’s purposes and for the Russian market of domestic and international transportation.

1997

The final consolidation of Gazprom of Russia’s air fleet under the colours of Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. is achieved. Branches are open in Kaluga, Perm’, Samara, Sochi, Ukhta, Yugorsk (Sovetsky) and Yamburg.

According to the decision of the Russian government Ostafyevo Airport located in Podolsk Area of Moscow Region becomes the location of mixed deployment of Ministry of Defense and Gazpromavia. Wide-scale reconstruction of the airport is made: the landing strip becomes longer and stronger, the navigation equipment is updated, and an airport building and a complex is built, as well as offices and storehouses, hangars, taxi ways, and the ramp.

1998

For the first time Gazpromavia takes part in the air support of the Paris — Dakar Rally with its five crews on AN-74-200. In the complicated navigational conditions of the operation poorly marked African terrain our crews had successfully accomplished the missions set by the rally organizers.

2000

The official opening of the Ostafyevo Airport.

2002

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “The Airline Company of the Year — the Participant in the Support of Russia’s Economy Branches”.

2003

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “the Airline Company of the Year — the Cargo Carrier of the Domestic and International Operations”.

The Company’s AN-74 aircraft takes part in the “Severnyj Polyus-32 (North Pole-32) floating station” project, organized by the “Polyus” (“Pole”) scientific center of Arctic and Antarctic. The aircraft crew got the Gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation Mr. V. Putin.

2004

According to the order of the Chairman of Gazprom of Russia Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. is assigned the status of the Gazprom of Russia’s and its subsidiaries’ general carrier.

Transportation of the participants of the Russian Antarctic Air Expedition to the South Pole. Main objective: repair and evacuation of the AN-3Т aircraft at the Amundsen-Scott Antarctic base due to its engine failure. The successful accomplishment of the project let Russia fulfill the requirements of the Madrid Protocol obliging Russia to evacuate the aircraft from the Antarctic that was announced an environmentally clean area.

2005

Working on the building-up of the International Centre of Business and Light Cargo Aviation in the Ostafyevo Airport, Moscow Region and Krasnaya Polyana Heliport, Sochi.

The geography of scheduled operations and air transportation sales gets wider.

2006

Gazpromavia takes part in the human initiative in the interests of the African Union. Within 6 months two aircrafts AN-74-200 deliver humanitarian aid which mostly consists of medical supplies and rations to the localities of Sudan.

The implementation of the charter flight program to the North Pole. More than 50 flights are performed on the route Longyearbyen (Spitzbergen archipelago) — ice airfield of Barneo in the period up to the 30th of April on AN-74TK —100 aircrafts.

2007

The actions taken towards the organization of the International Center of Business Aviation in the Ostafyevo Airport are completed. Maintenance centers of Eurocopter helicopters and business aviation aircrafts, the training center are set up.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. marks the 10th anniversary since its first participation in the Paris-Dakar Rally as the carrier.

The Company continues its participation in the charter flight program to the North Pole and it also takes part in the 52th Antarctic expedition.

The aircraft fleet of the Company gets wider.

2008

The opening of Gazpromavia’s new affiliated branch in Tomsk. Main objective: efficient search of the new fossil fuels deposits and hydrocarbon mining on the territory of West and East Siberia.

Special flights are performed by Boeing 737–700 aircrafts on the route Saint Petersburg — Manchester for the purpose of transportation and further participation of FC “Zenit” in the UEFA Cup Final.

2009

Gazpromavia's route network gets wider.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. and the Eurocopter Company sign a contract for the supply of 8 Eurocopter EC-135 helicopters.

2010

Gazpromavia’s helicopter air fleet gets wider.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Operator of Helicopter Operations”.

2011

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Operator of Helicopter Operations”.

The most up-to-date training center in Russia for helicopter pilot training is set up.

The contract for the supply of 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircrafts is signed.

2012

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Operator of Helicopter Operations”.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Passenger Carrier of Domestic Operations in Groups III-IV”.

2013

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Operator of Helicopter Operations”.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Airline Company of the Year — the Operator of Business Aviation”.

2014

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. launches a Comprehensive Program of the development of the Ostafyevo business airport.

2015

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. becomes a winner of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the nomination “Helicopter Services”.

The aircraft fleet of the Company gets wider. The Company obtains some new SSJ 100LR (Long Range) passenger aircrafts.

2016

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. obtains diploma of the Aviation Company of the Year of Wings of Russia National Aviation Award in the following nominations: “Helicopter Services” and “Business Aviation”.

Municipal territorial administration of Federal Air Transport Agency in Tyumen issues a certificate of the airport Bovanenkovo operator to the Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. on the 29th of February.

The aircraft fleet of the Company continues getting wider: Dassault Aviation — Falcon 7X business jets are purchased by the Company.

2018

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. has been actively involved in the transportation of football fans in the cities participating in FIFA World Football Cup in Russia.

Today Gazpromavia is a significant part of the aviation industry. The Company keeps developing the area of business flights, thus, occupying leading positions on the market of business aviation.

The Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. supports National aircraft industry and operates the most up-to-date Sukhoi Superjet-100 aircrafts.

The Company is particularly proud of its training center. Today the Company provides training on the programs of theoretical education and simulator-based learning system for the crew to operate flights on the following types of aircrafts: Mi-8, Mi-8AMT, Mi-8MTB, Boeing-737, SSJ-100, EC-120, EC-135.
