Yamburg

The decision to establish an airport in the settlement of Yamburg was made in 1984 by the USSR Ministry of Gas Industry as part of the «Project for the Development of the Yamburg Field». By the middle of 1994 Yamburg Airport with an artificial runway capable of receiving planes and helicopters of all classes was built by the forces and means of RJSC Gazprom.

From 1995 on, air transportation of shift personnel working in the Yamburg oil-gas condensate field, as well as cargo and mail, began to be carried out on a regular basis at Yamburg airport.

Currently Yamburg Airport is owned by PJSC Gazprom. Since March 2000, the direct airport activity at Yamburg Airport has been carried out by the Gazprom subsidiary Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd. and its structural unit, Yamburg Branch.

The airport provides services to aircraft of Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd., as well as aircraft of other operators by prior agreement. Aircraft service at the aerodrome is provided on a uniform basis for all users of the services of the Yamburg aerodrome operator.

The Senior Aviation Director of the airdrome is the Branch Manager — the Head of the Complex (airport) of Gazpromavia Aviation Company Ltd., Yamburg branch.
