Bovanenkovo

Bovanenkovo airport is the most northern airport of the Yamalo-Nenetz autonomous national area.

Bovanenkovo airport is a strategic site designated for facilitation of transport infrastructure of the Yamalo-Nenetz autonomous national area. It has been created to receive both airplanes and helicopters. Air traffic of the airport is mostly used for the transportation of the shift personnel to the Bovanenkovo gas field.

The airport is situated in the north-western part of the Yamal Peninsula in 40 kilometres from the coastline of the Kara Sea near the shift camp of Bovanenkovo.


The first technical flight in Bovanenkovo airport was realized on Tu-154 aircraft in October, 2012. Also in 2012 the airport was included in the State Register of Aerodromes and Heliports of Civil Aviation of the Russian Federation.
Today Bovanenkovo airport obtains all the necessary certificates for the full range of airport activities.


Status “B” class,
has been recognized to be fit for service of Tu-154, Yak-40, Yak-42 and its modifications; В-737-700, В-737-300, В-737-800 and its modifications; В-737MAX8; А-320; А-321 and its modifications; Falcon-900 and its modifications; Bombardier-CRJ-200; Embraer-145 and its modifications; Eurocopter EC-135 and its modifications; helicopters of all the types.
